Training
Program in Community-Based Development
Offered
in partnership with the International
Institute for Sustainable Development
The
International
Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) contracts out Village
Earth field staff to provide innovative training courses to
individuals and organizations that work in communities, non governmental organizations, and governmental programs to achieve a plan for sustainable community-based
development.
IISD's courses use the Village
Earth Approach to sustainable development as the basis for its course design and program activities. The Village Earth approach
is multi-sectoral, and therefore our courses cover a range of sectors in an integrated and participatory format.
IISD
offers courses and Colorado State University certificates in the field of
community development. We offer training seminars and an online
certificate program through the Continuing Education department at Colorado State University . Our courses focus on planning, design,
project implementation, networking, and evaluation.
Participants learn techniques of mobilizing community
effort, generating appropriate technologies, and
building community based organizations. Courses
are also offered on-request
at any location providing that there is sufficient
number of students registered.
