Welcome to Village Earth!

Village Earth is a publicly supported 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1993. We help reconnect communities to the resources that promote human well-being by enhancing social and political empowerment, community self-reliance and self-determination. We do this by strengthening intermediate and grassroots organizations through fiscal sponsorship, networking, training, research and advocacy.

We develop and deliver customized in-person and online training programs to aid and relief community.

Village Earth’s Online Certificate Program in Sustainable Community Development

Since 2003, Village Earth has partnered with Colorado State University Online to offer an online certificate program in Sustainable Community Development. The curriculum consists of 15 different courses and is designed for community leaders and activists, development professionals, funders of development, educators, students or anyone looking to learn more about the theory and practice of sustainable community development. All classes are facilitated by an experienced instructor and 100% online making it convenient for working professionals based anywhere in the world.

GSLL 1503 – Community Mobilization

This training draws on the theories and methods of Brazilian educator Paulo Friere, whose work has guided some of the most successful development and education programs around the globe, including the Orangi Pilot Project in Bangladesh, The NAAM movement in Burkina Faso, and the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement in Sri Lanka, among others.
