The Buffalo Hump Sanctuary grassroots organization on the Pine Ridge Reservation based in the community of Slim Butte. The organization is focused on sustainable land-use through the restoration of the sacred tatanka oyate (Buffalo Nation) to Pine Ridge Reservation and the northern plains. The project was started by the late Bernard Red Cloud and is carried-on today by his son Henry Red Cloud.
